What you will do 

The Product Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping solutions that meet our clients’ business objectives while championing an accessible, user centered experience. This role leads the planning and evolution of our product roadmaps, ensuring accessibility is embedded into every stage of design and development.

Working closely with customers, business partners, and technical teams, the Product Manager conducts user research, defines product vision, and translates insights into actionable requirements. They collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear technical and functional specifications, prioritize the product backlog, and guide agile teams in delivering high quality, modern digital solutions.

This role is also responsible for sustaining and continuously improving the end to end customer experience, ensuring our products not only meet expectations but set new standards for usability, accessibility, and innovation.

What you need to succeed

Education

• Successful completion of a post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or a related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training, or experience.
• Certificate or Certification in Product Management (e.g. Certified Product Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner) – An Asset
• Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

Experience

• Experience working in Information Technology projects or supporting operational systems;
• Experience providing strategic and operational advice to management
• Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and clients.
• Experience in Agile (Scrum, Lean, Kanban) software delivery
• Experience in eliciting, analyzing and documenting business or functional requirements 
• Experience facilitating discussions with stakeholders or clients

Knowledge

• Knowledge of business analysis practices and techniques
• Knowledge of the Product Management lifecycle and Agile Project Management Principles
• Knowledge of the Government of Canada Policy on Service and Digital, and the Directive on the Management of Projects and Programs – An Asset
• Knowledge of the research community and of the university setting in Canada – An Asset
